One thing I have to say about the movie, Human Trafficking….THIS MOVIE IS SO SAD! I first saw this movie when it came out in 2005 on Lifetime. I don't know how I watched it when I was 12 because I can't even watch it now. I didn't even realize that most of this goes on in America. I knew that it happened, but not to this extent. Isn't America supposed to be a safe place? I think that America should promote better awareness about this. Our country is supposed to be free, not enslaved. Especially the children! I could never imagine the pain that these women and children go through. It is sick and horrifying. If a friend or even my own child (God forbid) were to be kidnapped by one of these sick people, I would not stop looking for them until they were safe. Like the movie, Taken, but not to that extremity that the father does (well not physically, I am not nor never will be a member of the CIA.)
I think that the government needs to do more about this problem. People have no right to take over the innocence of a child. If more people understood that America is the country with the most human trafficking, I think that people would change some of their priorities. They also need to offer more help to the victims of this abuse. Finding these poor people is not just enough. They need psychological help! The abusers also need to be treated as well. They need even more psychological help! I do not understand how the people who conduct these underground organizations get away with doing this! Today more than ever, we are so technologically advanced, so it should be easier to catch these criminals by surveillance.
In the movie, the children were taken away so easily. There needs to be education for the parents and for the children as well about this. I would surely not let a friend or child go to a random model agency without my knowledge, consent, or without my presence. It is ridiculous!
